We love Surrey, it’s picturesque, great connections, with the best people (of course!). But it seems we’re not the only ones in love with Surrey, the camera is too!

So, we’ve summed-up the best-known films set in Surrey, and as your local estate agents covering Dorking, Leatherhead, Reigate and Redhill, you’ll see exactly why we love our home county.

The Omen – Stag Hill, Guildford played host to horror film, the Omen, as Guildford’s very own Cathedral features in the film.

Gladiator – Farham’s Bourne Wood featured in the opening scenes of the Gladiator. Although, it appears Bourne Wood is highly sort after in the filming industry, as it was also featured in a number of Harry Potter films and the 2010 Robin Hood film, as well as The Avengers and Thor franchises.

Love Actually – Among the most loved Christmas films of all time, Love Actually, had a scene shot at Epsom Racecourse, although you wouldn’t have noticed it, as it featured as the arrivals hall at Heathrow Airport.

Skyfall – Who can forget the childhood home of James Bond, supposedly based in the Scottish Countryside? It was actually shot in Surreys Hankley Common, near Elstead. Surrey is no stranger to hosting the filming of James Bond, as Dunsfold Park became Miami International Airport for Casino Royal, and Farnborough Airport and Aldershot were both used for Quantum of Solace.

The Duchess – Clandon Hall, based near Guildford, played host to The Duchess. It’s stunning Marble Hall became the Breakfast Room of “Devonshire House”.
